People will be contacting you left and right with opportunities and you may even get some shout-outs from the top bloggers that you have looked up to throughout your journey.
But, few people ever reach the 100,000 visitors per month goal. So, how can you separate yourself and be one of the lucky ones that makes it happen? You're about to find out.
How To Get 100,000 Blog Visitors Per Month:
1. Know Your Target Niche
Before we get into the actionable strategies to use for accomplishing this massive blogging goal, you need to first think about who you are targeting. What niche are you looking to reach with your blog?
To reach 100,000 visits a month, you need to make sure that your niche is not only something you are knowledgeable in and passionate about, but is big enough to even make your goal possible.
If you are trying to reach 100,000 visitors a month in the “talking parrot training” niche, don't waste your time. But, how do you know your niche is big enough without it being too broad?
A great way to do this is to see if there are some magazines that cover the niche. No company is going to start a magazine in a small niche where they won't get a lot of readers, right?
Think of magazines like Entrepreneur, Inc, People, Time, Men's Fitness, etc. They all cover big niches and have tons of visitors. Look at big magazines like those or even more targeted magazines in more specific niches.
This is a great indicator of whether or not there is enough traffic potential to reach your goal. If it's big enough, you are passionate about it, and you are knowledgeable in it, that is a great niche for you.
2. Don't Reinvent The Wheel
Now, I am getting straight to the meat and potatoes here and showing you how to get this massive traffic, because I am assuming you already have your blog setup. If you don't, you need to take care of the first, obviously.
Here's a tutorial on how to setup your blog affordably in just a few steps.
If your blog is setup, you need to start looking at other blogs in your niche to see what is already working. There is no need to reinvent the wheel here. Most successful websites or blogs have a lot in common.
When you go these sites, notice a few things…
- Which posts are getting the most comments?
- Which posts are getting the most social media shares?
- Which sites are most of the shares coming from?
- How long are the posts?
- What kind of media (images, videos, audios) do they use within the post?
This is key for figuring what people want to learn more about in your niche. Like I said, don't reinvent the wheel. Trial and error for months can be avoided by just modeling (but not copying) the best.
Take some notes from at least 3 different top websites in your niche on what they all have in common. If you need help finding their most popular posts, use BuzzSumo to type in the URL or keywords to see what they are.
3. Make Sure Your Site Is Fast
Did you know that a big chunk of your traffic will click the “back button” and not even view your content if it takes more than 3 seconds to load? Yes, it's true and it's scary to think about.
You have to put an emphasis on speeding up your blog if you want to get up to your goal of 100,000 visitors a month. Otherwise, you will lost a lot of your visitors before they even see your content.

If you aren't sure how fast your blog really is, here are the 6 best free tools for testing website performance.
Doing things like optimizing your images with a plugin like Smush it or using a quality CDN like MaxCDN can make a HUGE difference in performance.
Some additional speed tips for your blog:
- Use Web Resizer to optimize images before uploading them to posts.
- Don't use a lot of widgets.
- Delete any plugins you aren't using.
- Use P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) to scan and tell you which plugins are slowing your site down.
- Use W3 Total Cache to optimize your site's performance even more.
And when you test your blog's speed, don't forget to test individual blog posts instead of just the homepage because they will differ. When it is loading in 3 seconds or less, you're good.
4. Guest Post On The Big Blogs
Another great way to get blog traffic and build your brand is to leverage the top sites in your niche that are already established. For example, if you are in the marketing niche, you might try to do some guest posts for Marketing Land, Entrepreneur, or Digital Marketer.
These sites have TONS of traffic and can help you get instant credibility if you write a high quality article for them.
By doing this you get a high-authority backlink, a boost in traffic, a boost in branding and even some side opportunities that people will offer you if they like your posts.
Here are some tips for making the most of guest blogging:
- Post on the biggest sites in your niche, but not too often. This way if their audience likes your stuff, but want more, they will be forced to find your blog and subscribe.
- Use attention-grabbing headlines that people have to read. Using the words “How-to” or numbers at the beginning of your headline will make your post a lot more popular.

I've found that if you post every other day, your publishing and promotion will keep your traffic numbers high for a couple days before they start declining again.
To avoid the decline and keep your traffic high and increasing from week to week, post every other day until you can get some help.

7. Monetize Your Blog
Let's face it, blogging isn't free. Although, it can be pretty cheap to maintain, if you want to keep growing and providing high-quality information or resources to you audience, you need it to generate some income.
Unless, you already have a lot of money from other ventures to pay for a support staff, developers, writers, etc., you need to monetize your blog to make it profitable.
Eventually, when your blog starts getting 10s of 100s of thousands of visitors on a consistent basis, you will need the extra money to keep growing and manage the blog.
To start making an income from your blog, here are 10 ways you can start monetizing it.
8. Boost Posts With Advertising
With the competition growing everyday on the internet for traffic in every niche, a little advertising can go a long way. And you don't need a huge budget to do this effectively either.
For just $5 – $25 a post or so, you can multiply your blog post views to reach a whole new level.
Here are some great ways to use a small ad budget to boost blog posts:
- Use Facebook Page boosts. You can click the “boost post” button on your Facebook Page and see a 4 – 10x increase in post reach for just $5.
- Use promoted Tweets. Twitter is one of my favorite social media sites for blog traffic and a few dollars on a sponsored Tweet can go a long way towards getting more clicks.
- Bing PPC advertising can help a lot. Google is the largest search engine on Earth, obviously, but Bing PPC covers both Bing and Yahoo search engines (which happen to be the 2nd and 3rd biggest search engines, not including Youtube). Just pick the keywords your blog covers and put a budget on boosting the post for a few days. Bing / Yahoo has a lot less competition than Google too with lower CPC prices.
- Use Google Adwords ads. Google and Facebook are the two biggest sites on the internet in terms of traffic, so why not give them a shot for some extra blog post views.
- Try Stumbleupon paid discovery. Stumbleupon is all about connecting people with content they love and for about $20 or less, you can get a HUGE boost in traffic.
Just deciding how much you're making each month from the blog and factoring that into a budget for each blog post to be promoted will go a long way towards reaching that 100,000 visitor goal.
9. Have A Good Backlinking Strategy
Unless you want to depend solely on advertising or social media traffic, I recommend you start building some backlinks to get some organic traffic.
The reason you want to do this is to get your blog posts ranking in search engines where they will bring in lots of traffic without needing to be promoted any longer.
Here are some of the best ways to get backlinks:
- Infographics – Turning your content into a high-quality infographic and then inserting the embed code in the post for others to use is a great way to get people to link to you.
- Mentioning people as a source for a post. When you link to others' articles as sources of information that you found or that add to what you wrote about, shoot that blog owner an email and let them know you did so. They may share the post or link to it.
- Apply for link roundups. A lot of sites use a link roundup of posts from other sites that are very useful for one certain topic.
- Find people who shared a similar post to yours using BuzzSumo and reach out to them about sharing your post.

10. Get More Writers
Unless you are running a consulting business or just some personal blog that is just a hobby, you are eventually going to want to get more writers.
You have to look at it this way: you most valuable asset is your time. You can make more money in life, but you can't get more time. Writing quality blog posts is very time-consuming.
Just cutting that part out of your daily business tasks can save you as much as 6 or 7 hours, depending on how long a typical post takes you.
So, to free up more time and keep your blog growing, you have two main options:
- Start getting a lot of guest-posters and contributors to post on your blog.
- Or, start thinking about hiring some full-time writers to do the posting.
Once you do this, you can basically just become the blog's editor. You read over the blog posts people submit to you, tell them to tweak a few things and then post it.
This is much faster and more efficient than doing all the writing, editing and promoting yourself. Plus, you can now have more time to grow your blog in other areas or just spend time doing what you love to do.
You could even hire a full-time editor if you get so many writers that it becomes overwhelming.
This is what all the biggest businesses do with their blogs and what will help you get one step closer to an automated business. Put a contributor form on your site like Entrepreneur does or place an ad looking for writers when you need more bloggers.
11. Using Analytics To Scale Up
You might want to have Google Analytics and Webmasters set up for your blog. Knowing the analytics of your blog and checking them consistently will help you find trends of what is working and what isn't.
Once you know what is working, you can then scale it up, spending more time on that instead of what isn't working. This is how you keep your blog growing.
If you have certain types of blog posts that get bigger boosts in traffic and sales than others, you can see that trend in your analytics and then start spending more time doing those types of posts.
If you see that a squeeze page isn't converting near as well as others, use Google Analytics tracking codes to figure that out and either tweak the page or delete it.
Using analytics for you blog is a must and will help you run more efficiently as time goes on.
12. Outsource And Automate
Making money from your blog is not only important for keeping the lights on, but to help you use your time more wisely. Even if you wanted to get 100,000 viewers per month for your blog without any outsourcing or other writers, it would just make your life much harder than it needs to be.
Have people gotten to 100,000 blog visitors a month without the help of anyone else? Yes, but it is rare and they have to spend a lot of time on things that could be automated pretty easily.
That is not what you want, and it isn't possible if you want to continue to grow your blog past 100,000 visitors a month.
You need to be able to spend more time managing it and coming up with new revenue streams for it, instead of doing all the little things like you were when you started out.
There are two main ways to free up more time while keeping the same production:
- Software
- Outsourcing
You can use software and web tools to do things like:
- automating social media
- sorting blog comments
- keeping your site fast
- sending automatic email sequences
- getting leads
You can use outsourcing for things like
- content writing
- video production
- editing
- infographic creation
- blog image design
- advertising
- following up with clients
- scheduling meetings
- customer support
You need to use these things because trying to handle everything your blog will require when it has massive amounts of traffic will just be too much of a burden.
Once you have all of this in place, you can get a lot more consistent production and free up a lot more of your time. To slowly start doing more automation as time goes on, I recommend holding aside about 10-20% of your blog's income aside for that very purpose.
Then, go throughout your regular schedule over the course of a few days and use a stopwatch on your phone or computer to time how long each of your daily tasks takes to run your blog.
Write those times down and start trying to come up with ways to get rid of the most time consuming tasks first through automation using software or outsourcing.
Slowly and steadily this will make your blog grow even faster because you will be removing the biggest limit to your blog's potential, yourself. And I don't mean this in a bad way.
The blog is your baby and you have done all the work it took to get it where it is, but humans can only do so much by themselves and each one of us has only so much time.
Before you go with outsourcing, see if a software can do the job because it will usually be more reliable and cheaper. But, for tasks like customer support, graphic design or content writing, you have to get people to do it.
Eventually as you follow this plan, you could have a multi-million dollar blog running basically on autopilot.
Conclusion
If you want to get 100,000 blog visitors per month, you are going to have to work hard and be consistent. Don't try to take shortcuts or do anything “blackhat” to get there faster because it will hurt you in the long run.
Define your niche, give them quality content and products, get your blog in front of as many people as possible and then learn to scale up while scaling back your daily tasks using automation.

Thank you for these tips…I believe I need a refresher every now and then. I get lax and don’t keep in mind that getting and sustaining blog traffic is a process, that you have to do over and over consistently. Like washing clothes, LOL.
That’s a great analogy, LOL. It definitely is like washing clothes over and over again your first year or two, but when you start seeing more and more traffic, you make more money from the blog and can start using that to automate a lot of the daily tasks, so you can do what you want while other keep it going.

Very good post. I loved reading through but I must say getting 100,000 visitors to a blog is not an easy joke. We must get some paid advertising to scale up to that amount of visitors per month.
I’ve seen with guest posts we can bring in some thousands of visitors but 100,000 visitors is close to impossible.
I’ll still try sites like Entrepreneur and Digital Marketer to see if I can see any numbers close to 100,000.

These are some great and useful tips to get a lot of visitors. There is a lot of work into getting more visitors and the initial start can very time consuming. Using social media, guest posting, and getting more writers are all critical steps to attracting more people to your blog. It will be very hard to attract writers in the beginning, unless they are paid, but when you scale up, it should get easier. Thanks for sharing these tips and the social media tips. I will have to look further into building my social media, but one thing is that is all takes time. The hardest part of it all.
