Job Highlight: Part-Time Grain Bid Representative

DTN is seeking detail-oriented representatives to collect and enter grain pricing data from various sources across the United States and Canada.

Representatives gather grain bids from grain elevators, ethanol plants, feed mills, and other grain buyers using websites, emails, and phone calls. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as employees may process hundreds of pricing updates each day.

This role is heavily focused on data entry, research, and quality control rather than customer service or sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather grain pricing information from designated sources.
  • Enter grain bids into Excel spreadsheets and company databases.
  • Review and verify entered information for accuracy.
  • Conduct additional research assignments as requested.
  • Send notifications regarding out-of-range pricing and data updates.
  • Maintain accurate and organized bid records throughout each shift.
  • Grain bid collection occurs when commodity futures markets are closed.
  • Typical work takes place between: 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM
  • Representatives may enter as many as 800 bids per day during active periods.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or currently working toward graduation.
  • Basic proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Office
    • Databases
    • Email systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
