Expressable is hiring a Financial Support Specialist.

This is a full-time, direct-hire remote position open to candidates located in the United States. Employees must be available to work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time.

The target pay range is $20 to $25 per hour, along with a full benefits package.

Job Highlight: Financial Support Specialist

The Financial Support Specialist helps create a positive financial experience for patients by answering billing and insurance questions, processing payments, and helping resolve claim issues.

This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex healthcare billing information with empathy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Support: Respond to billing, insurance, payment, and statement inquiries through phone, email, and chat.
  • Insurance Assistance: Help patients understand coverage, deductibles, co-pays, explanation of benefits statements, and payment options.
  • Payment Processing: Collect and process payments accurately and securely.
  • Claims Resolution: Work with insurance verification and revenue cycle teams to address denied or delayed claims.
  • Patient Education: Explain financial policies, insurance processes, and available support resources.
  • Documentation: Record all interactions accurately while maintaining HIPAA and PCI compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify recurring billing issues and suggest improvements that reduce patient frustration.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

At least 2 years of experience in healthcare billing, patient accounts, insurance claims, or revenue cycle management.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with EHR and CRM systems.
  • Proficiency with payment processing platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Google Workspace skills.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Understanding of HIPAA and PCI compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of insurance terminology, including deductibles, co-pays, diagnosis codes, CPT codes, and explanation of benefits documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in telehealth environments.
  • Experience with multi-state healthcare organizations.
  • Experience in patient financial counseling or revenue cycle improvement initiatives.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are highly preferred.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote, sedentary position performed from a home office environment.

The role primarily involves working on a computer, communicating through phone and video platforms, reviewing electronic records, and documenting patient interactions.

Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required.
