Job Highlight: Trust & Safety Specialist
As a Trust & Safety Specialist, you'll help protect the integrity of the Handshake platform by reviewing reports of suspicious activity, investigating policy violations, and making fair, consistent enforcement decisions. You'll work closely with teams across the company to reduce fraud, improve safety, and maintain a trusted online marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
• Investigate reports of suspicious, fraudulent, or abusive activity.
• Review user accounts, employer profiles, job postings, and messages.
• Enforce community guidelines and marketplace policies.
• Identify scams, spam, fake accounts, impersonation, and other harmful behavior.
• Document investigations and enforcement decisions.
• Respond to escalated cases from internal teams.
• Manage moderation and investigation queues while meeting quality standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Security, Customer Support, and Operations teams.
• Recommend improvements to policies, tools, and enforcement processes.
• Handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
• One to three years of experience in Trust & Safety, content moderation, fraud investigations, risk operations, customer support, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to apply policies consistently and make sound decisions.
• Experience using ticketing systems, CRM platforms, or moderation tools.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to review sensitive or potentially distressing content while maintaining professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting online marketplaces, SaaS platforms, social platforms, or online communities.
• Familiarity with phishing, scams, spam, fake accounts, impersonation, and fraud detection.
• Experience with policy enforcement or abuse investigations.
• Ability to use investigative reasoning and internal data to assess risk.
• Experience working with Product, Legal, Security, or Customer Support teams.
Work Schedule
Available schedules include:
• Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
