Looking for an entry-level remote job? These five employers have customer-support openings worth comparing if you have basic computer skills and some experience helping customers.

I checked the official hiring sources on November 2, 2026. Most of these roles require previous customer-facing work, so this is a list for people seeking an early-career or first remote position—not a promise that every job accepts applicants with no experience.

There are important differences: CHN requires Spanish and English, Safelite is recruiting for January classes, and Lyra's current job page lists overnight shifts. Every role includes phone work. Below are the advertised wages, requirements, catches, and official links.

Entry-level remote jobs at a glance

CompanyAdvertised hourly pay (USD)Main requirement or catch
Mercury Insurance$17.25, $19.25 or $21 by stateOne year service experience or equivalent; November 30 training class
Hinge Health$16.96–$25.44 or $18.75–$28.13 by geographic tierOne year customer-facing experience; geographic restrictions
Clinical Health Network$18–$26.50Spanish and English; experience preferred; review concerns
Safelite$18 starting payPrevious service experience; 13 states; January 2027 start
Lyra Health$24One year service experience; overnight work

These are employer-posted figures. The top of a range is not a guaranteed starting offer, and a remote designation does not mean you can work from any location.

1. Mercury Insurance — Customer Support Specialist

Mercury's support team helps insurance customers with billing, policy questions, account changes and claims intake through calls and digital channels.

  • Pay: State-based rates of $17.25, $19.25 or $21/hour; California's typical hiring rate is $21. Read the full state breakdown in the listing.
  • Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent and one year of customer service or call-center experience, or equivalent education/experience. Microsoft Office skills and 30 WPM typing matter. Prior remote work is a plus.
  • Schedule: Four weeks of paid training starting November 30, 2026, Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Pacific. The subsequent 40-hour schedule includes Saturday.
  • Catch: An in-person interview may be required. Confirm equipment arrangements and pay during training.

My take: This is a practical starting point if your service experience transfers and you can attend the fixed training schedule. Check your state's wage before comparing it with another offer.

Job ID: 2026-6905. For workplace context, read Mercury's Glassdoor profile.

2. Hinge Health — Associate Member Support Specialist

Hinge Health's member-support role handles enrollment, eligibility, billing and product questions by email, phone and chat. It is a support position rather than a licensed clinical role.

  • Pay: Two geographic tiers: $16.96–$25.44/hour and $18.75–$28.13/hour, plus listed equity and benefits.
  • Qualifications: At least one year of call-center or customer-facing experience. A bachelor's degree/equivalent experience, remote-work background and relevant support tools are preferred.
  • Location: U.S. remote, with specific state and metro rules. Some tiers exclude areas around Chicago, Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Houston and Seattle. Check the listing's exact eligibility table.
  • Schedule: Variable shifts within 4 a.m.–8 p.m. Pacific, potentially including weekends and holidays.

My take: Worth checking if you want to move customer-service experience into digital healthcare. The location rules and actual starting offer matter more than the highest number in the advertised range.

3. Clinical Health Network — Bilingual Patient Access Representative

Clinical Health Network for Transformation supports Planned Parenthood affiliates. This role handles patient registration, insurance information and appointment scheduling, including reproductive-health and abortion services.

  • Pay: $18–$26.50/hour.
  • Qualifications: Spanish and English proficiency, high school diploma/equivalent experience, strong phone communication and multitasking. One year of related experience and an associate degree are preferred.
  • Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly; availability Monday–Saturday between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern, with additional hours possible.
  • Setup: Fully remote in the U.S.; laptop, monitor and headset provided. A private workspace is required.

My take: Bilingual ability provides an entry advantage here, but the work includes sensitive conversations, heavy phone use and performance expectations. Read the responsibilities carefully.

The CHN Glassdoor page showed 2.2/5 from 27 reviews when retrieved November 2. Some reviewers report concerns about management and changing performance standards. This is a small, self-selected sample, but I would ask specific questions about training, supervision and quality scoring before accepting an offer.

4. Safelite — Customer Service Representative

Safelite's remote representatives take auto-glass claims calls, check coverage and arrange service. This posting is for January 2027 classes, so factor in the wait before starting.

  • Pay: $18/hour starting pay, with separate bonus opportunities.
  • Hours: Full-time and part-time schedules; no overnight shift. Three weeks of paid weekday training requires full attendance.
  • Qualifications: Previous contact-center/customer-service experience, age 16+, and high school diploma/equivalent or current enrollment.
  • Eligible states: AZ, FL, GA, KS, MS, NE, NC, ND, OH, OK, SC, TN and TX.
  • Equipment: Your own Windows 11 computer, wired headset, webcam, phone for authentication and wired internet. Macs, Chromebooks and tablets do not qualify. Internet must meet the posting's speed and connection standards.

My take: The part-time option and starting wage are useful, but the January start and equipment costs may rule it out if you need income quickly.

Requisition: JR75175. Check Safelite employee reviews, especially feedback from support roles.

5. Lyra Health — Client Support Specialist, After Hours

Lyra helps people access mental-health care. Its support specialists answer benefit and technical questions, assess client needs and escalate safety concerns to clinical teams.

  • Pay: $24/hour advertised base rate.
  • Qualifications: At least one year in customer support, customer service or another high-touch service role, plus strong writing and comfort learning support software. Healthcare/technology and remote-work experience are preferred.
  • Location: U.S. remote. Confirm eligibility for your specific location.
  • Schedule: The current job page lists overnight shifts: 7:30 p.m.–4 a.m. Pacific on Monday–Friday, Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday; or 9 p.m.–5:30 a.m. Pacific on Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday. Confirm the assigned shift during hiring.
  • Workload: Calls, emails and chats in a high-volume environment. Training is provided, but safety-related escalations can make the work emotionally demanding.

My take: The advertised wage is appealing for someone with ordinary service experience who wants overnight work. This is a poor match if you need daytime hours or low-pressure tasks.

Which job should you check first?

Start with your location and schedule. Then compare required experience, equipment costs and the disclosed wage you could actually receive.

  • Want employer-provided training? Compare Mercury's November class with Safelite's January classes.
  • Speak Spanish and English? CHN makes relevant experience preferred, but investigate workplace concerns.
  • Want healthcare support without a clinical license listed? Compare Hinge Health and Lyra, including the shift demands.
  • Need part-time work? Safelite explicitly lists part-time schedules; check whether the available hours fit.

For general context, the BLS customer-service profile explains typical duties, training and occupational outlook. Glassdoor's customer-service salary page provides broader estimates. Neither replaces the wages and requirements in an individual employer's listing.

Tailor your resume using accurate examples of customer communication, problem-solving, documentation and computer skills. Do not claim healthcare, bilingual or software experience you do not have.
