How Much Money Does Twitch Pay You?

Traffic:

It has a ton of users at #30 in the world in traffic, according to Alexa rankings.

How you get paid:

• Subscriptions – Viewers pay either $4.99, $9.99, or $24.99 per month and you get about 50% of that. Some top streamers get a higher percentage.
• Donations – Donations can vary a lot on Twitch, but one way people do it is through Bit gems and Cheernotes, which are animated emotes that can be used in chat. People purchase these emotes through bits and the streamer gets paid about $0.01 per bit their fans buy.
• Ads – Ad revenue is similar to what you might see on YouTube with Google Adsense. But, on Twitch, your ad revenue should average around $250 per 100 subscribers per month, according to CNBC. Or, if you go by views, it may average more like $0.25-$1.50 per 1,000 views.
• Sponsorships – May average around $0.01 – $1 per viewer per hour. Some top streamers get big deals to play certain games.
• Affiliate commissions – You earn 5% commissions on the sales of game or in-game items through your channel.

Ways to earn money outside of Twitch using your brand:

• Merch – Many top streamers like Ninja and Markiplier sell their own t-shirts, hoodies and other merch that their fans can wear.
• YouTube – You could use your prerecorded content or past Twitch clips and put them on a YouTube channel for people to go back and watch on their own time. This can make you money from YouTube ads and many other ways, if you choose.
• Private deals – You may get a deal with RedBull or some kind of brand that wants you to include their product in your streams.
• Social media sponsored posts – If you get a lot of followers on another platform like Twitter, you could get paid to tweet on behalf of a company that pays you. This is what “influencers” do.
