Here is a little more detail about each job type:
1. Data Entry / Microtasking
If you want to work online without having to use too many brain cells, you might try sites like Amazon Mechanical Turk and Clickworker.
You'll get paid to do things like:
- Web research
- Entering data into spreadsheets
- Product categorization
- Image tagging
- Surveys
2. Handy Work
If you are a handyman or woman, Takl and TaskRabbit are the sites I recommend you try.
Here are some of things you get paid for on these sites:
- Landscaping
- Moving furniture
- Assembly
- Mounting / Installation
- Painting
3. Freelance Work
Everyone has skills of some sort. Whether you developed those skills from school, hobbies, natural abilities, or occupations, you can get paid to help others with them.
Fiverr and Guru are a couple of my recommendations for making money as a freelancer who works from home.
Here are some of the skills you could monetize on these sites:
- Illustration
- Voice-overs
- Writing
- Coding
- SEO
- Video editing
- Logo design
4. Writing
You may hear that most jobs are being taken over by automation, but writers still seem to be safe for a long time.
If you want to get paid to write, you can use some of the freelance sites I mentioned or check out these 15 sites that pay $200+ per article.
I would also recommend that you check out the Problogger jobs board for the latest writing gigs being posted.
Here are a few ideas for getting paid to write:
- Start your own blog
- Guest writing
- Ghostwriting
- Freelance writing
- Editing / Proofreading
5. Transcription
Transcription might be some of the easiest online work out there. All you do is listen to an audio file and type it out in word document form. All you need is a decent word per minute typing speed and good grammar.
You can test your WPM typing speed here.
Rev is one of the better places to make money doing this type of work. They don't just pay you for transcription though.
Here are all the services you can get paid for at Rev:
- Transcription
- Captions
- Subtitles
- Translations
6. Testing
If you want to hang out at home and get paid to give your review about apps, websites, and product prototypes, try UserTesting and UserZoom.
They both pay you via PayPal and UserTesting pays around $30 per hour.
7. Graphic Design
Okay, this might be one of the more difficult online jobs on this list, but if you are a natural artist, it may come easy to you. If you fit the artist type and want to work from home, try 99designs or DesignCrowd.
Here are some of the designs you get paid for:
- Logos
- Vehicle wraps
- Product labels
- YouTube channel art
- T-Shirts
- Business cards
- Banner ads
8. Mock Jury
One thing people rarely think about when it comes to online jobs is being a mock juror. eJury and some other sites pay you to be a pretend juror online to help lawyers do a practice trial.
This helps them prepare for the real deal.
9. Search Engine Evaluation
Search engines and social media sites need help making sure relevant ads are being displayed and errors are fixed on their platforms. This is where you come in and get paid by sites like Leapforce and The Smart Crowd.
If done right, you can make $12 – $15 per hour doing this type of work. This article explains how to do it right.
Bonus: Virtual Assistant Work
Looks like you're getting 10 suggestions instead of 9! Luck you!
As a virtual assistant, typically get a very specific set of instructions from a busy person who needs you to take care of fairly easy, but tedious tasks.
I would recommend checking out sites like VirtualAssistants.com or TaskBullet to find work.
Here are some of the tasks you might expect to do:
- Online research
- Scheduling meetings or appointments
- Replying to emails

1 Response to "9 Easy Online Work-From-Home Jobs for 2018"
Hi there,
This is a great list of jobs. I know (and work with) a lot people who are doing virtual assistance, freelance writing, and graphic designs. They enjoy the comfort of their homes and making a lot of money from recurrent client work that they get. It is a great business model, especially for those who are still in school or need a part-time job to stay busy at home.
Thank you for sharing this!
