Business Development Rep at GitLab

GitLab is looking for an enthusiastic and strategic Business Development Representative (BDR), to join our growing Revenue Marketing team. As a BDR at GitLab, you get the opportunity to lead the initial outreach to targeted Enterprise accounts working in conjunction with the Field and Digital Marketing teams. In this role you will leverage creative marketing and sales tactics to prospect and engage with multiple buyer personas and roles to introduce GitLab’s value. You will be responsible for generating qualified meetings and pipeline for GitLab's Sales organization.

Don’t have a ton of knowledge about GitLab yet? Don’t worry. We have an extensive onboarding and training program at GitLab and you will be provided with necessary DevOps and GitLab knowledge to fulfill your role.

What you'll do in this role

  • Effectively execute outbound prospecting initiatives
  • Conduct high-level discovery conversations in target accounts
  • Meet or exceed BDR sourced Sales Accepted Opportunity (SAO) volume targets
  • Collaborate with and leverage teammates to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities
  • Utilize business and industry knowledge to research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, create/identify compelling events, and develop accounts
  • Work to have a variety of touches (call, email, social, etc.) on all prospects in your assigned territory using Outreach.io
  • Manage, track, and report on all activities and results using Salesforce
  • Participate in documenting all processes in the GitLab handbook and update as needed with your Business Development Manager
  • Work in collaboration with Field and Corporate Marketing to drive attendance at regional marketing events
  • Attend field marketing events to engage with participants identify opportunities, and to schedule meetings
  • Act as a mentor for new BDR hires in helping them navigate their key accounts
  • Work in collaboration with Digital Marketing to develop targeted marketing tactics against your assigned target accounts
  • Actively partners with the Sales Team to strategically prospect in their respective territories.

Sales Development Rep at 15Five

Our Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) are an integral part of the Revenue Organization and are responsible for qualifying leads at the initial stages in the sales funnel and successfully booking calls for Account Executives. SDRs research potential clients and/or existing expansion customers, connect with and educate prospects and qualified leads before passing them on to the Account Executive team. Outbound reps are responsible for researching and prospecting into target customers, identifying needs, introducing 15Five, and generating an evergreen pipeline of prospects and accounts. This is the perfect role for someone who thrives in a dynamic team, is curious and passionate, and is a self-motivated, driven individual looking to build the foundation for their SaaS B2B sales career!

OUTCOMES

  • Outcome 1: Complete Jumpstart and 15Five University Onboarding in first 45 days
  • Attend and actively participate in all Jumpstart and 15Five Sales University live and self-paced trainings
  • Pass all assessments to “graduate”
  • Participate in “The Pit”, a 2-week period of on the job training while in a learning environment to build a prospecting pipeline
  • The expectation is to book 2 meetings per week and maintain set activity metrics
  • Outcome 2: Achieve 12 “First Calls Complete” (discovery calls set and run) 
  • Consistently maintain or exceed an average of 80 calls and emails per working day
  • Book at least 16 Discovery Calls per month, with qualified prospects and or expansion customers (and ensure the meetings run)

 A day in the life of…

  • Data Accuracy & Structuring: Proficiency in conducting thorough research, verifying the accuracy of gathered data to maintain an 85% accuracy rate, ensuring a reliable and high-quality database for LeadSimple. Strong attention to detail in collecting, organizing, and structuring lead data for BDRs using CVS files, while also documenting best practices and enhancing efficiency based on feedback.
  • CRM Utilization & Efficiency: Expertise in effectively using LeadSimple to organize and structure lead data efficiently, ensuring it is readily available for use by Business Development Representatives.
  • Strategic Cross-Platform Analysis & Industry Trends Monitoring: Conducting strategic research and analysis across multiple platforms such as real estate listings (Zillow, Realtor.com), Sales Navigator, BuiltWith Lists, NARPM, LeadIQ and others to generate high-quality leads. Continuously staying up to date on industry trends, market dynamics and property management softwares to refine lead generation strategies.

  • Successfully conduct initial research on 250 target property management companies, and get them imported into LeadSimple.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of the current lead generation approach, and propose adjustments or improvements to enhance the quality and relevance of the lead list.
  • Document all research methodologies, sources, and insights. Compile a document outlining the gathered data and proposed new strategies for lead generation.

60 day goals:

  • Outcome: Maintain 80% accuracy while expanding the Outbound Pipeline, ensuring data quality and relevance for 600 new property management companies, ensuring these leads meet defined quality standards and criteria.
  • Build on segmented and targeted lead lists specific to different software users (e.g., Buildium, AppFolio, etc.), with a focus on Small and Medium-sized Businesses within the North American market.
  • Test and refine lead generation techniques based on initial feedback and performance data. Adapt our strategies to ensure efficiency and improved lead conversion.

90 day goals:

  • Outcome: Expand the Outbound pipeline  to include lead information for 1200 property management companies while maintaining a 85% accuracy rate, providing a robust repository for targeted outreach efforts.
  • Import a minimum of  300 high-quality leads weekly to the BDR team, ensuring comprehensive and precise information, aiding the team's effectiveness
  • Collaborate weekly  with the BDR team to ensure the data you collected is maintaining a minimum of 85% accuracy .
