If you love music, podcasts, videos, etc., you can get paid to listen to all sorts of audio files with these different methods:

Voice Writer

A Voice Writer is someone who listens to a live stream and respeaks what they hear so a piece of software will automatically generate subtitles that allow people to follow along.

3Play Media is the only company I've seen that offers this job.

It doesn't require experience or any major credentials to do it.

According to Glassdoor, people have earned up to $32/hour here.

Transcription $26?

With transcription, you listen to all sorts of interviews and audio files, type out what is being said into text and label the speakers.

One great place to find transcription work is at Daily Transcription.

They usually have a few transcription jobs available that you can do as a contractor, as long as you can type fast and have good grammar.

Music Reviews

Another way you can get paid to listen to audio is through reviewing songs on sites like Slice the Pie.

Here, you can get paid a little extra money for review you give of a new song, fashion, etc.

You can also get paid to refer others.

This is mostly just a site to make money from if you have a few extra minutes and love music or fashion.

Don't rely on this site for a steady income.

Music Playlists

If you love using Spotify and creating playlists, you can get paid up to $15 per song that you review.

There are a lot of artists trying to get their songs more exposure and one way they do that is by paying music curators to review their songs for their popular playlists with Playlist Push.

It's a win-win.

If you have playlists with lots of followers on Spotify, you can get paid to promote new songs while also helping new artists break through and get more fans.

Call Reviewer

If you've ever been interested in a job in quality assurance, you could try it out part-time first with Humanatic.

Humanatic is a website that does customer service and sales call quality reports.

Here, you can get paid as an independent contractor to help them review recorded business calls with customers to look for ways to improve.

This company lets you apply worldwide, but only pays up to $4.50/hour via PayPal.

The pay isn't high, but could go further in some countries vs others, depending on the cost of living.

Subtitles $30

You can get paid to listen to audio by doing captions and subtitles for videos.

Rev.com has always been one of the better websites for doing this type of work as an independent contractor.

You can earn anywhere from around $10-$30/hour via PayPal with weekly pay and the option to work when you want.

They also hire worldwide.

Video/Podcast Editor Fiverr welocalize

Another obvious way you can get paid to listen to audio at home is to be a video or podcast editor.

There are a few ways you can go about this.

  1. You could be a freelance editor
  2. You could look for editing jobs that are full/part-time and allow you to work remotely

For freelancing, I recommend checking out a site like Fiverr where you can set your own rates and have clients come to you.

For finding jobs, you can do a regular search on sites like Indeed or I've also seen Welocalize looking for some Video Editors recently.

Translation

As a Translator, you can sometimes listen to audio files and translate them into another language.

If you are multilingual, you can check out a site like Blend.

Here, you can get paid to be either a freelance Translator or Voice Artist that works from home.

You can also apply from around the world.

Lyric Associate at Genius (if available)

Yet another way you could make money listening to audio files is by becoming Lyric Associate at a site like Genius.

I haven't seen one of these jobs posted in a while, but sometimes Genius (a music information site) will have job postings for people to listen to new songs and transcribe the lyrics to post online.

These jobs are great for music lovers who want to get paid to constantly discover new songs.
