Data Entry Operator at UnitedHealth Group

Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for data entry of material from source documents to a computer – connected terminal
- May operate an alphabetical / numerical keypunch machine
- Verifies data and performs clerical tasks in the data processing function
- Examines, revises, approves and dispatches input and output materials according to established specifications
- Works on assignments that are semi – routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments
- Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required
- Meet productivity standards as outlined in client metrics
- Identify any issues or trends and bring them to the attention of management team
- Work on special projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of data entry experience
- Experience with using Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort, filter, and work within tables), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Ability to work any full – time 8-hour shift schedule between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of healthcare experience
- Previous experience with utilizing EPIC, Cerner, OR other hospital applications
- Medical billing OR claims experience
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
