Purpose

CENTEGIX is looking for a Technical Writer for a 6 month contract position (up to 30 hours a week) with an opportunity for extension. As a Technical Writer at CENTEGIX, you will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive technical and process documentation that effectively communicates detailed  information to internal stakeholders and external partners and customers. You will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) across multiple departments to gather information and translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SMEs to gather information and understand technical concepts.
  • Write and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Organize and structure content to ensure clarity and accessibility for end-users.
  • Translate technical jargon into easily understandable language for non-technical audiences.
  • Review and revise documentation for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation meets the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and documentation.

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of experience related to technical writing, which may include college coursework, internships, student organizations, research assistantships, or post-college technical writing experience.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to commit up to 20-30 hours per week on a 6-month contract.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s (or advanced) degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Any teamwork in sprints or stand-ups—e.g., a class project or hackathon—is a plus.
  • Comfortable working independently most days but reaching out early when questions pop up.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
