Support Specialist at Bandcamp
Bandcamp is a music publishing platform website that connects emerging bands with their fans.
What you'll do:
- Use your expert knowledge of the site to field email inquiries from an amazing customer base of artists, labels, and fans
- Follow, review, and test new project developments and collaborate with our product, engineering, and design teams to stay several steps ahead of potential support issues
- Perform analyses on common problems to identify and report usability snags (and other surprises) and connect the dots to find creative solutions
- Hone our help docs and internal processes with the objective of reducing the support team’s load
Qualifications:
- Your writing is clear, concise, empathetic, and 99.9999% of the time typo-free. Your grammar is impeccable. Full stop.
- You are able to retain an enormous, ever-changing set of specific details, and find satisfaction in putting together the pieces to help users resolve their issues.
- You are familiar enough with HTML/CSS/JavaScript to know when opening your browser’s page inspector will be especially illuminating.
- You live anywhere, but your workday overlaps with 9 am – 5 pm PST for at least four hours.
Preferred:
- Extra credit: you are already a Bandcamp user (applicants with both Fan and Artist accounts are entitled to bonus points) and/or you have past customer support experience.
Compensation:
According to Glassdoor, this job pays around $53,000/year.
