Here are 14 online business you can start with a job in 2019.
Let me know what you think, ask me a question, or suggest something I cover in the future in the comments below!
1. Graphic Design
Robots won't be replacing good artists anytime soon. Try sites like 99designs and DesignCrowd for graphic-design-only gigs.
Try general freelance sites like UpWork and Guru as well.
2. Online Courses
Many bloggers go from a decent income to 6 or 7 figures online when they start selling their own courses.
You can try sites like Udemy and Teachable for an easy way to get started.
Also, look into sites like Vimeo where you can do premium videos that people must pay to watch.
3. Ebooks
Not ready to do a full course yet? Maybe you should try starting with an ebook on a subject you have a lot of knowledge and experience in.
Publish on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, etc.
Here's a video on how to make money selling eBooks:
4. Instagram Influencer
Whether you like traveling, cooking, working out, motivating people, etc., you can try being an Instagram personality.
Once you build a large following, you can monetize it with sponsored posts, paid shout-outs, etc.
5. Podcast
Another business you can start on the side is a Podcast. In fact, one of my favorite sports podcasts right now is done by two guys who have full-time careers doing other things.
Check out The Tim Ferriss Show and The Joe Rogan Experience for examples of two of the most successful podcasts out there.
You can monetize your show with ads using a site like Midroll, your own products, and other ways.
6. Photography
Photography can be a great way to make money doing something you love. You could make passive income from stock photos (iStockphoto and Shutterstock, photo apps like Foap, and print-on-demand products that come from your images (try MiPic).
7. Affiliate Marketing
Want to make money from sharing products you love with others? Try affiliate marketing with programs like Amazon Associates, Clickbank, Etsy Affiliates, etc.
To get traffic to your affiliate links, try Pinterest, blogging, YouTube, etc.
8. Tutoring
Have a teaching background and want to make around $20 per hour or more with a side business?
You can tutor students online for specific school subjects with a site like Chegg or teach kids English on a site like SayABC.
9. Blogging with Adsense
One of the most well-known ways to make money online is blogging. Of course, you can monetize a blog lots of different ways, but if you're just starting out and don't have much free time, you might try Google Adsense.
This will just put ads on your site. The more traffic you get and the more competitive keywords you rank for, the more money your ads make.
10. YouTube
With YouTube, you can make money as a gamer, comedian, vlogger, animator, teacher, etc.
You can monetize your channel with sponsors using Famebit, Adsense ads, affiliate links, etc.
11. Twitch
If you're pretty good at gaming, you can try being a streamer on Twitch. Here, you can make money via donations, subscriptions, sponsors, and ads.
You can go for games that just came out to bring in new viewers or go after the most popular games that the big streamers play like Fortnite and League of Legends.
12. Etsy or Amazon Handmade
If you're more of an artist, you can try selling prints, paintings, custom jewelry, sculptures, and other handcrafted goods on Etsy or Amazon Handmade.
On Etsy, you can even make passive income by selling art that is available via direct download. This way there's no packing and shipping that you have to do to sell your prints.
13. Writing
Another online gig that is constantly in-demand is good writing. You could be a ghostwriter, guest poster, editor, proofreader, or any other kind of writer and make pretty god money online.
You can try the Problogger jobs board, freelance sites, Scribe Writing, or even the sites I mention on this post I did about making $200 per guest post.
14. Fiverr
Last but not least, Fiverr is another great site to make money online from without needing to go full-time.
It's similar to the average freelance site except you post what services you'll do and at what cost. Then, the customer comes to you.
Some people like this better than the model of freelance sites have where the freelancer has to go prove that they're qualified for a job posting.
