The STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER is a key technical expert within Ovia’s Engineering team. This role coordinates engineering support for Ovia’s enterprise clients, through a combination of hands-on work and coordination with other engineering teams. This role is expected to fully understand and document “run books” for enabling these processes to be done in a scalable way, and also to recommend tooling and architectural changes for future, better ways of handling these activities.

What you will do:
- Learn and document existing processes for enterprise client support.
- Learn and document processes for making changes to certain production systems for client support requests. Where possible, align those client support processes with processes for making other changes to production systems, with the ability to perform either.
- Recommend improvements to processes for future scalability – for example, new tools.
- Working closely with the other client success functions within Ovia, ensure that client needs are met. This may be personally performing an engineering task or coordinating with another team.
- Communicate clearly and transparently with other engineering and business stakeholders regarding progress in understanding, documenting, and scaling up Ovia’s enterprise business processes.
- Evangelize best practices that improve code quality and developer productivity, while leading by example in your own work
- Depending on the needs of the business, be able to effectively lead a small team, such as another client support individual, or a group that builds tools for client support.
- Work cooperatively across the Labcorp businesses to improve and integrate our technology and data
What we require:
- Top-notch software engineering ability and 5+ years of experience in software customer implementations built on top of performant and reliable full stack services
- Fluent in engineering best practices and ability to incorporate these into designs and execution
- Understanding of all aspects of the software and product development lifecycle
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to translate business and product goals into software solutions
- Significant familiarity and experience with PHP. Other languages such as Javascript are a plus.
- Significant familiarity and experience with SQL and other database technologies.
- Significant experience with AWS products
- Ability to effectively communicate complicated technical topics with other internal stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects within an agile environment.
- Demonstrated experience as a technical leader, and ideally as a people manager.

Pay Range: $150,000 – $170,000 annually
Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), Commissions, and Company bonus where applicable.
