Social Video Editor at BDG
BDG is a global media company behind Bustle, Elite Daily, Gawker, etc.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, capable of juggling many tasks, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The Social Video Editor will work closely with other members of the Social Media team to pitch, create, and edit videos on a weekly basis. Other responsibilities will include regular data analysis, some direction, and creative ideation/execution on social franchises and series.
Applicants should have a passion for social content and be up-to-speed on current trends, especially on TikTok and Instagram. The candidate should be fluent in Adobe Premiere; familiar with all social media platforms (TikTok, IG, Facebook, and Twitter); and possess strong communication skills. A great work ethic, ability to take initiative, and an understanding of BDG’s brand portfolio is a must.
Responsibilities
- Produce and Edit social first video for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook & Twitter
- Participate in brainstorms to develop social video strategies and concepts
- Create strong working relationships across internal departments from Marketing, Social, and Editorial
- Ideate new series and assist on the creation of proof of concept work
- Work with designers on custom formats to match each brand's design identify
- Stay abreast of content and technology trends in the entertainment, video production and motion graphic communities, and suggest new ways to implement these
Requirements
- 2+ years experience working in video, specifically for a digital publisher
- Ability to edit videos in a timely manner
- Thorough understanding of BDG’s brand portfolio
- Ability to identify trending topics, emerging trends, and on-brand influencers
- Excellent organizational skills
- Willingness to take direction and alter workflow with a sense of urgency
- Exceptional communication skills
