Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein lived from March 14, 1879 to April 18, 1955. He was a German-born theoretical physicist and is known by many as one of the smartest people ever to live. This earned him the label of "genius".
One of the most famous accomplishments of his life was developing the general theory of relativity, which is now one of the two pillars of modern physics. He is probably best known, though, for his mass-energy equivalence formula E = mc2.
Some of the awards he has won include:
- Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 for his work in theoretical physics including his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect.
- Time Person of the Century in 1999
- Barnard Medal in 1920
- Matteucci Medal in 1921
- ForMemRS in 1921
- Copley Medal in 1925
- Max Planck Medal in 1929
Einstein has greatly impacted the philosophy of science and played a big part in the evolution of quantum theory, but science isn't the only thing he was known for.
He also had many famous quotes that shared what he thought about life, success, relationships, politics, etc. As someone who was seen as a genius, many people always wondered what he thought about other things besides just physics, which he was best known for.
For instance, he believed in socialism. He believed capitalism to be the source of much "evil" and that America should establish a socialist economy with an education system that supports social goals.
Here are some of Einstein's other views that didn't relate to his work in physics, but to other aspects of life:
- "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
- "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."
- "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results."
- "Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."
- "Education is what remains after on has forgotten what one has learned in school."
- "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
