  • Axion Data Entry Services doesn’t always have work available, but is still a great option you should check on periodically. They require 2-3 years experience in data entry and a 50 WPM typing speed. You can test your typing speed here for free.


  • Clickworker usually has quite a bit of work available to independent contractors relating to data entry, editing, research, etc. You take small assessments to prove what you’re qualified for and get more work for quality performance. You get paid weekly via PayPal.


  • SigTrack has seasonal work that is data entry related. The work is mostly centered around voter registration and things like that. As far as payment, you get paid via PayPal, but that’s only if you maintain 98% accuracy. Also, you must be a U.S. citizen and meet system requirements.


  • Microworkers is another website where you get paid as an independent contractor to do micro tasks like data entry. Sometimes, you may come across a job that’s not legit, so be careful. You get paid via PayPal on acceptance of your completed work.


  • OneSpace provides workflow automation services for businesses, but they also have a freelance section on their site. Here, you can find transcription, writing, editing, and other jobs you may be interested in. You can also submit your application even if the right work isn’t available yet and they’ll get back to you when it is.


  • TranscribeMe is one of the bigger transcription websites where you get paid to turn audio into text. Your pay would start a $20 per audio hour via PayPal if you pass the transcription test they provide. You get paid more if you have a background in medical or legal transcription.


  • Quicktate is yet another transcription company that you can work for online. You must pay $15 to apply and if you get accepted, you’d be paid $0.01 for every 4 words you accurately transcribe. You get paid via PayPal weekly.


  • Scribie has a lot of work for both beginner and experienced transcribers. To get work, you first have to pass a test to get certified. You also don’t have to be in the U.S. to apply.


  • 1-888-TypeItUp pays you $60 to $120 per audio hour or more to do transcription work for them. They do not require past experience, but you have to prove your skill with an entrance exam. You pay $35 to take the exam.


  • Babbletype lets you have a flexible schedule and get paid weekly via PayPal to do market research transcriptions. You must be a native English speaker. The pay rate is $12-$15 per hour of work.


  • Rev pays you to do transcriptions, captions, subtitles, and translations. You get to choose your own schedule as well as projects while getting paid via PayPal. Pay ranges vary depending on which types of jobs you work on.
